2. Mukesh
Mukesh Chand Mathur, popularly known as Mukesh, was a major playback singer of Hindi cinema. In 1959, the Filmfare Award for best playback singing was received for the song Sab Kuch Seekha Humne, Na Sikhi Hoshiyaari in the film Anari. In 1974, Mukesh got the National Film Award for the song Kai Baar Yun Hi Dekha Hai in the film Rajinigandha.
Lata Mangeshkar is one of the most popular and respected singer in India, whose job of six decades is filled with achievements. Although Lata ji has sung in film and non-film songs in more than thirty languages, her identity has been in the form of a playback singer in Indian cinema. Lata ji has been the biggest contributor to the film singing with her sister Asha Bhosle.

Sonu Nigam is an Indian musician and singer who sings mainly in Hindi and Kannada but also in other languages such as Urdu, Oriya, Tamil, Assamese, Punjabi, Bengali. He is the playback singer of many Indian films and has received many different awards. Kal Ho Na Ho is the song best known and loved until today. Sonu is known for his versatile voice and for the wide range of emotions he is able to express. Sonu sings with a very clear pronunciation. he created his authentic and unique style and has become an idol for many young new musicians in India.
Talat Mahmud was an Indian singer and actor. Famous by their shaking sound, they are also called the King of the world of ghazals. In childhood, Talat tried to imitate his father, which did not get much support in the home. One of his aunt listened and encouraged him. She also gave adolescent Talat to Morish College for his education of music on his stature.
7. Asha Bhosle
Asha Bhosle is an Indian female singer known as a playback singer in Bollywood films. Lata Mangeshkar, the older sister was recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records from 1974 to 1991 as a singer with the highest number of song recordings in the world. Bhosle herself claims she has recorded more songs than any other singers in the world, a total of 12,000 songs.
8. Hemant Kumar
Hemanta Kumar Mukhopadhyay, also Hemanta Mukherjee often credited as Hemant Kumar outside Bengal, (June 16, 1920 - 26 September 1989) was a singer, composer / musical director and producer of the Indian film, sung in Bengali, Hindi and more Indian languages. In an interview broadcast on television in the 1980s, Hemant Kumar said that he took classical music education from Ustad Fayyaz Khan, but after the death of Ustad he broke this order.
K. S. Chitra or Chitra is an Indian playback singer. She also sing Indian classical music, devotional songs and popular music. She is the recipient of six national film awards (highest among female vocalists), five Filmfare awards. She is called the small Nightingale of south India and the Nightingale of Kerala.
Kavita Krishnamurthy (born 1958) is an important playback singer of Indian cinema. While graduating at St. Xavier's College in Mumbai, Kavita used to take part in every contest. This was the time when in a program famous singer Manna Dey heard the song and gave her an opportunity to sing in commercials.
11. Hariharan
Hariharan is an Indian playback singer whose songs usually appear in Tamil and Hindi films. He also sang several songs in other languages namely Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Bhojpuri and Telugu films, a ghazal singer, and one of the pioneers of Indian fusion music. In 2004, he was awarded with Padma Shri by the Government of India and was a National Award winner twice.
12. Jagjit Singh
The name of Jagjit Singh is among the most popular ghazal singer. His music is sweet and his voice melts beautifully with music. In childhood, he inherited music from his father. Jagjit started learning classical music for two years with Pandit Chagan Lal Sharma in Ganganagar. He went further and learned the nuances of Khayal, Thumri and Dhrupad from the Ustad of Senia Gharana Jamal Khan Sahib.
13. Shubha Mudgal
Shubha Mudgal is an Indian singer, one of the most recognized performers for interpreting classical music such as Hindustani, Khayal, Thumri, Dadra and other traditional styles of Indian music. She has been awarded the National Film Award in 1996, for the for Best Non-Feature Film Music Direction of Amrit Beej.
14. Mahendra Kapoor
Mahendra Kapoor was an Indian playback singer of the Hindi film. In his five-decade career, he has sung 2500 songs in various languages, including popular songs such as 'Chalo ek baar phir se Ajnabi ban jayen hum dono' (Gumrah), and 'Neele gagan ke tale' (Hamraaz). However, his name was strongly associated with heroic songs including 'Mere Desh Ki Dharti' in the film Manoj Kumar Upkaar. In 1972, he was awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India. Kapoor died September 27, 2008 from heart failure.
15. Sukhwinder Singh
Sukhwinder Singh is an Indian Bollywood playback singer. Singh is known for singing Chaiyya Chaiyya, won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer in 1999. The song, which originated in the 1998 film Dil Se... by Mani Ratnam, and composed by AR Rahman, written by Gulzar, and sung duet along with Sapna Awasthi. The film also appeared in Bombay Dreams musicals and, in remixed arrangements, in 2006 segments of the film Spike Lee, Inside Man. Singh got international fame by singing Jai Ho from the film Slumdog Millionaire, which won an Academy Award for Best Original Song and a Grammy Award for Best Song.
16. R. D. Burman
Rahul Dev Burman or popular as RD Burman is a Bollywood Music director, Composer, Singer and Actor. Burman is known as a figure of renewal in Hindi film music. Burman sang in 18 films, and played in two films, Bhoot Bungla (1965) and Pyar Ka Mausam (1967). The idea for one of the songs, Mehbooba Mehbooba was taken from the song Say You Love Me by Demis Roussos.
17. Udit Narayan
Udit Narayan Jha, popularly known as Udit Narayan is a singer, sung in Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Bhojpuri, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Oriya, Assamese, Maithili and Bengali language. Narayan has interpreted musical themes in 26 different languages. He has been nominated for several National Film Awards, winning five Filmfare awards. 18. K. J. Yesudas
Yesudas is an Indian playback singer who works mainly in Malayalam cinema. Yesudas was born on January 10, 1940 in a Roman Catholic (Latin Reith) family in Fort Cochi, the son of the famous musician and playwright Augustine Joseph. Yesudas has been active in music for over half a century and has sung in all major Indian languages except Assamese, Kashmiri and Konkani. The singer has made his presence not only in the film music world but also in the Carnatic music scene. Though he has sung most of the popular songs, Yesudas deeply appreciates the pure music and strives to touch its rich areas. He has won the National Award for Best Playback Singer most of the time and has won the Best Playback Singer in the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Bengal.

78. G. M. Durrani
Ghulam Mustafa Durrani was a renowned Indian playback singer, interpreter sung in Hindi films in the decades of the 1930s, 1940s and 50s. GM Durrani Sahab was discovered by the producer of the movie "Sohrab Modi". He gave his first opportunity between 1935-1936, in the film "Saaed-e-Hawas", a historical film under the musical direction, of the classical musician Bundu Khan, a popularly known performer known as "Taan Talwar".
